Gradus delivers hygienic wall protection for BMI hospital
Gradus has supplied wall protection systems to BMI The Somerfield Hospital in Kent, as part of a refurbishment project, helping to enhance aesthetics at the facility and reduce maintenance costs.
Based in Maidstone, BMI The Somerfield Hospital is part of BMI Healthcare, a leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals. The hospital has 38 beds in total, three operating theatres, three minor procedure rooms, and hosts a range of specialist clinics.
Gradus SureProtect Pure hygienic wall protection in white was specified for use in the anaesthetic and sluice rooms. Specifically designed for areas of a hospital where cleanliness is a priority, the hygienic wall cladding creates an impermeable barrier to moisture and bacteria and has a smooth, easy to clean surface. In addition, SureProtect Pure offers a tough and durable finish helping to protect against impact and abrasion from passing equipment, trolleys and beds, thus reducing any ongoing repair and maintenance costs.
Dual height Wall Guards were also fitted in the bin store and clean room areas, specified in chalk to coordinate with the surrounding walls. These were used with SureProtect Endure to protect the environment from impact damage while blending in with the clean, contemporary décor of the newly-refurbished hospital.
‘Product quality was great’
Connie Stocker, Executive Director at BMI The Somerfield Hospital, says: “We have worked with Gradus on a previous refurbishment project at the hospital and were impressed with the result. The standard of service we received, and product quality was great, which is why we’ve chosen to work with them again.
“Gradus wall protection systems come in a variety of colours which enabled us to choose a solution which suited the existing interiors and produce a clean, modern appearance.”
Maria Morgan, Product Manager at Gradus, says: “Walls in healthcare facilities, such as BMI The Somerfield Hospital, are vulnerable to dents, scuffs, and scrapes due to wheelchairs, beds, and trolleys. Thanks to our wealth of experience in healthcare environments, we are able to supply products that are fit for purpose and will reduce maintenance costs for the hospital.”
